12 Kingdoms - Ginmoku Prince Kyon-Yin Seinya

A long time ago, at the age of fourteen, a young Kyon-Yin Seinya went out into the frozen deserts of Ginmoku to prove himself, as any young hunter does. And in any normal situation, he would have come back without a problem.
....But there WAS a problem.
The Kyon-Yin that returned from that trip, said his family, was calmer. Less passionate. More careful of word and deed. He was stronger too - and occasionally, some have claimed that he can grow now claws that look to be made of Amber. He came back pretending to be as youthfully brash with his sword as he ever was - but all agreed that he wasn't. And those eyes.... Those eyes that were now Amber and glowed in hues of Red Amber in the dark...
Whatever returned, decided his siblings, was more dangerous and potentially ruthless than Kyon-Yin could have hoped for. FAR more deadly. And although he looked the same and sounded the same, there was an unmistakable low purr or a hiss or a growl to his voice now and again.
Ming-Yu, his eldest brother, made his other siblings to promise never to speak of the old Kyon-Yin again - for their own safety.
And over time, the "new" Kyon-Yin's abilities and manner of making one feel at ease when he chose had done the trick - they seemed to forget. He had quickly risen to not only the top of the Seinya tribal lands, but of all Ginmoku's warriors - enough so that he quickly became the General Prince and Hei'an Yae Tien's right hand man.
But Kyon-Yin noticed quickly just HOW unbalanced Hei'an was. Enough so, that when his sister Yanmei questioned Hei'an's authority - even teasingly mocked it - Hei'an quickly soured, and then grinned evily. "The Empire requires an heir," Hei'an had said. "And because I desire no woman but one - you will provide it with Prince Seinya as reward for his service for the Empire."
Even if Yanmei WAS his sister - and ostensibly co-ruler, in one moment of capricious mood Kyon-Yin's fate was sealed. Without warning.
He vowed that if he ever found this woman the Emperor sought for himself, Kyon-Yin would hide the girl for a while himself as revenge. Whatever Yanmei's personal thoughts on the matter. In the meantime, he has more territory to seize.
