Ami Mizuno/Mercury in Seramanga Daioh has something in common with her Azumanga counterpart, Yomi - in this case, they're both fighting something. In Azumanga, Yomi fights her weight, while in Seramanga, Ami fights to be top of the test score board.
Needless to say, she respects/likes/dislikes the people here who have beaten her - Michael Fletcher and Kou Taiki. ....But since there are jokes about Michael occasionally being reduced to a doormat around her, she's going to focus on beating him - only to learn that the supposed doormat status doesn't extend to grade scores... XD
